Relgion: The month of Feb we will be learning about the "Hail Mary" and our class will be learning about caring for God's creations and ways we can take care of God's creations and caring for the people we love.
​
Writing : Writing our names,writing our names on lined paper, tracing and writing uppercase and lowercase Ww, tracing and writing words that begin with Ww.
Math: Number recognition from 11-15, using standard units of measure to compare different sized objects, math vocab. words: short, long, big, small
Discovery: The month of February our class will be learning about animals who hibernate vs. animals who migrate. Our class will be learning about bears and comparing the similarities and differences between 3 different types of bears. We will be discovering what foods they eat, what countries they live in, and how different their habitats are. We will be tying this into our literacy unit of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Technology: Our class has begun to use some new programs on our IPADS last week. We have added some games on coding, illustrating, and geometry.
STEM CHALLENGE:
Goal: Building penguin habitats
Genius Hour : The lettuce we were growing was harvested and sent home for tasting before Christmas Break! Our class will be voting on what type of vegetable we will be planting next. Our goal is to grow and cook with what we will be growing next.

Additional Information & Upcoming Events:
*This week is "Start With Hello Week" which is started by the Sandy Hook Promise organization. The builders club will be leading us in daily activities.
* Monday: Classes will eat lunch with little buddies
*Tuesday: Students will stand or sit next to someone new.
* Wednesday: Say hello to everyone you pass
*Thursday: Make valentine cards with buddies
*Friday: Selfie Day...take a selfie with your buddy or classmate
* Valentine's Day will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 13th. Your child may bring in Valentine Cards to hand out to each of their classmates. Please send in cards no later than, Monday, February 12th.

* Friday, Feb. 9th is bring your favorite animal who hibernates Show N Tell! It may be stuffed of a picture of an animal that hibernates in the winter.
​
* Friday, Feb 16th and Monday, Feb. 19th School will be closed for President's Day Weekend.
